In local planning news, planners have approved the installation of 120 solar panels at Selwood Manor in Frome.

The application, for the site at Jacks Lane in Spring Gardens (under reference: 2020/1481/FUL) was backed by the parish council and was given approval today (May 5). The panels will be using the latest high-efficiency PERC cell technology which commits to ensuring high levels of power production even under low light conditions.

No objection to the application to fell an Ash tree on land to the North of Barrow House at Kings Court in Chewton Mendip.

And no objection to reductions in tree heights of a Eucalyptus and a Willow at 5A Orchard Street in Frome.

Approved with conditions, the homeowners at 62 Locks Hill in Frome want to reduce the height of their London plane tree.

Approved with conditions an application to dismantle an Oak tree, due to very advanced decay, at 28 Preachers Vale in Coleford.
