The former Mayor of Frome's favourite pub, The Three Swans has re-opened.

The pub opened up on July 9 with the pub's partner Lucy Cooper telling Nub News that they waited a bit longer than other places to get a few more safety measures in place and to add some additional training for staff.

She told Nub News: " We opened last night. It was all brilliant, everybody was fab with social distancing and they all followed the one way system. Everybody was relaxed and it was a nice little buzz."

"Obviously not as busy and bustling as it usually is, but so much better than sitting in an empty pub all the time. But all in all, really really good first night."

Another famed pub that has opened is the Lamb& Fountain on Castle Street. It dates back to 1753 and is famed for its secret tunnel, rare ice well and incredible view over the town.

In 1785 there was a census of all the alehouses, inns and pubs in Frome and it was recorded that there were 78 of them.

Currently the Discover Frome site, run by Frome Town Council lists 34 pubs and bars.
