Date: 18.07.2018Time: 02:55Location: Baker Street, FromeTwo pumps from Frome station were mobilised to a report of a fire in a car park on Baker Street, Frome. On arrival crews found a camper van well alight, so set to work using one hose reel jet and one compressed air foam jet to tackle the fire. The fire was so intense that two other vehicles in close proximity to the van were damaged by radiated heat.Small gas cylinders were found in the rear of the van, and although they were not involved in fire, one was removed by fire crews and the temperature monitored as a precaution. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately, so Avon and Somerset police were informed and made an attendance. The fire caused damage to 90% of the van and 5% of the nearby vehicles.
