Do you like Lego, dinosaurs and dogs?

Then you already have three things that you can share with a child who really needs your help.

The UK charity NYAS, the National Youth Advocacy Service is looking for someone to give some time to a child local to Nunney.

The volunteer role is to befriend them and once a month help and support them.

Expenses and training provided. You can apply via this link: the web site application

But before you do - the charity suggests you ask yourself some questions before applying.

Are you reliable? If you commit to something do you do your upmost to do it? If you say you going to take a child to the park do you make sure you do? Can you share the good things in life? Do you like to spread happiness? Can you bring joy into a child's life? Do you like to have fun?

If you answer yes to the above - they really hope you can apply.

The group urgently requires more volunteers, so why not volunteer as a mentor/befriender for NYAS as an Independent Visitor for children and young people in care. As a volunteer you will:
  • Have fun, take young people on outings and maybe share a hobby , sport or interest
  • Offer support and a listening ear and be a positive influence in a young person's life and help build self- esteem and confidence

You don't need any special qualifications except to be child centred

We like you to have experience of children and young people either from work, volunteering or informal caring roles within the family

We are looking for reliable and dependable people from all walks of life

We will provide training and on-going support. We will pay expenses to a set limit.

You can find out more by looking at the video at the top of the story.
