Disappointed fans of one of the oldest pubs in Frome will have to wait a little longer for a pint.

In February the landlady, who has been at The Three Swans for seven years since it re-opened in 2014, announced she would be moving on, thanking the customers in particular for their support.

She wrote on the pub's social media: " My favourite thing about The Three Swans is that you never know who will walk in next, but you will always find someone to chat to... and I think that's pretty magical. Each of you has kept this little boozer going and for that, I'm very grateful."

Today (May 11) the pub posted on its pages, that with her leaving and no replacement yet in situ, they would not be re-opening on Monday May 17.

In a social media post they wrote: " As you will all know, our lovely Lucy has moved on to new adventures and we are still in the process of finalising arrangements for new management. This does, however, mean that sadly we do not anticipate being open again until all restrictions are lifted in June."

Management added that it also meant they could not take any bookings for the function room, the scene of many a popular Frome community night.

One of the regulars at the pub wrote that although it was sad not to be able to go back to the bar on May 11, the pub was so good he would wait a while longer for that much anticipated pint.
