A local nature charity is offering Christmas gifts aimed at being affordable and meaningful.

For £20 you can give your family member or friend a year's sponsorship of a "beautiful patch of land" that they can visit in person or virtually, being rewilded by the charity Heal Rewilding.

The three metre by three metre patch will be located within the charity's foundation rewilding site, Heal Somerset, where lots of wildlife is now finding a new home, including wild-living beavers, skylarks, hares and dormice.

Heal will look after the patch and it will be held in your loved one's name.

The gift recipient will be able to see online exactly where their square is located using its unique what3words address and will also be able to visit the Heal Somerset site.

After a year, they will be given the option of making a small upkeep donation of £3 per year to keep their sponsorship.

Alternatively, you can opt to gift them a lifetime square for £100, meaning the square will be held in their name for their lifetime.

Heal Somerset is a place for everyone to visit, to experience the magic of land given back to nature forever, where wildlife is already beginning to thrive and carbon is being captured to fight climate change.

With every square sponsored, Heal is one step closer to owning the site outright and keeping it for nature, forever.

Squares can be gifted to one person or to each person on your gift list, with the option to sponsor one or multiple squares per person.

You can also download, print and sign gift certificates to give on the day, with over 12 designs to choose from, featuring animals such as hedgehogs, hares, badgers and bison.

To sponsor squares for family and friends, including gift certificates and full details and terms, go to www.healrewilding.org.uk/festive.
