CPRE Somerset is running its annual photography competition and this year the theme is Somerset: my special place in all seasons

People are being encouraged to send in their photos that show their love of the Somerset countryside all year round, rain or shine.

Organisers said: "We all know that, whatever the time of year, what ever the weather, getting out and about in the fresh air makes everything better.

"Getting outside gives you space to think, the opportunity to stretch your mind as well as your legs.

"Any time is a good time for a walk and a chat with friends, whether you are basking in the sunshine or sheltering under the trees, waiting for the rain to stop! The judges will be looking for photos including people, activities or close up details of special things – no empty landscapes, please."

Photos must be taken in the county of Somerset in the last two years.

There are two prizes of £100 in two age categories – adult and under 18s.

Competition entry is free and you can submit up to three photos.

For details on how to enter, visit the website.

Closing date is 31 August 2024
