A great museum : Re-opening after the winter break
A great museum : Re-opening after the winter break

This Tuesday (14 March) Frome Museum reopens after its winter break. As well as a new permanent exhibition telling the story of the town, from prehistoric times to the present day, there will also be temporary ones throughout the season.

The first such exhibition marks the 80th Anniversary of the sinking of HMS Thunderbolt, which was the submarine Frome 'adopted' during World War Two. To coincide with the Museum's reopening and the anniversary (which occurred on 14 March 1943) local historian David Lassman will give a free talk about HMS Thunderbolt and its tragic history, along with other vessels the town was connected with during the Second World War.

The 30 minute talk will take place at 11.30am on Tuesday 14 March 2023 at Frome Museum, located at 1 North Parade, Frome, BA11 1AT. The Museum itself will be open 10am-2pm Mon-Sat (plus 10am-2pm on Independent Market Sundays).
