Dramakarma and Keyford History Group are appealing for original photographs of scenes and buildings from Frome in the Second World War.

From October 6 the local youth drama group will start a second run of their popular show about evacuees in Frome at the Merlin. The show follows closely the true story of the evacuation of a school from London to Frome and their adventures on and off bicycles!

The group are creating an exhibition to run alongside the show and provide additional background information for the audience.

"While we do have a small collection of photographs as well as sketches we are told that few photographs were taken at this time due to the expense and lack of availability of film. Shots of people- hosts, evacuees- bicycles and familiar landmarks in Frome are gold dust and would be very welcome. "
