Over 50 members of the public visited Frome Town Hall to look over plans and proposals for the park and footbridge which will, in the words of Acorn 'unlock' their version of the town centre development of Saxonvale.

Acorn has a new architect appointed to review their masterplan for the site, which will be up for consultation later in the year. But the event at the Town Hall was for the public to look at plans for a footbridge which would go from Willow Vale and which needs to be approved before any work can start on their plan.

It is also a technical challenge to connect that bridge with a play area and park under their plans.

Frome Nub News has been told that of those who visited the event, the majority seemed to support the proposals for the park, footbridge and play area.

People liked the idea of a new café within the park, the boules court, keeping the park as natural as possible, improving biodiversity and providing a pond.

The review of those plans - a set of two competed visons for Saxonvale which you can read about HERE will be open for comments until June 8.

Acorn insist that they will review all the comments and feed them into a planning application over the coming weeks.
