Don't wait ten years until you see these terrific trio play The Merlin.

That was when Exeter-based Le Navet Bete last played in Frome and now they are back for a Saturday show packed full of quick fire costume changes, a laugh out loud sea of slapstick and at least one rather impressive piece of gymnastics.

It may not be true to the legend, but the play within a play about a play, makes for a merry old time and is held together by the energetic trio and their trusty stage manager. Billed as suitable for all the family some of the jokes are perhaps close to the sword, but the little ones in the audience were treated to cake, and a chance to pelt the players with vegetables, so all blushes were spared.

And it stayed pretty close to a serious history lesson - (not) - because there is nothing serious about this play.

Camelot is in trouble. King Arthur knows that if he doesn't turn things around, this civilisation will be forgotten, and be known as nothing more than a rather dull time in British history. But when three hapless squires approach him about changing that legacy… a legend is born.

Le Navet Bete have won fans across the UK with their hilarious physical comedy and the reason they have lasted so long is because they are terrific at it.

The performance is at 7pm - book tickets HERE.

Miss this and they are off on tour, and then straight into panto season, oh yes they are, before returning with King Arthur to stages across the UK. Find out more about them HERE
