Developer Acorn Property Group has secured Help to Buy funding for The Old Printworks in Frome, with the first homes that qualify now released for sale, helping first-time buyers get on the property ladder and own their first home.

The Government-backed Help to Buy Equity Loan means select homes can be purchased with a 5% deposit with buyers able to use a 20% government loan, meaning home ownership is more affordable at this sought-after development.

The homes that qualify for Help to Buy include a newly released 2-bedroom apartment, which will be ready to move into this winter, and selected 3-bedroom houses which are perfect for a young family or professional couple.

The 2-bedroom apartments at The Old Printworks are perfect for first-time buyers, built with a high-quality specification, flexible open plan living spaces and available on the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme. In addition, as a special offer on the apartments only, Karndean flooring & carpet is included meaning the homes will be complete with everything you need, ready to move in.

The Old Printworks is located on the site of the former Butler, Tanner and Dennis printing press, which printed the first Penguin books in 1935. Developed by Acorn Property Group in conjunction with London & County, the £45 million (GDV) development is set to bring 157 modern homes to the popular town of Frome, with the first residents now moved in and enjoying the lifestyle on offer.

Following the latest Government guidelines and COVID-19 restrictions, the Marketing Suite and Show Homes are open daily by appointment with social distancing measures in place to ensure safety. Buyers can also view an interactive, virtual tour of each Show Home from the safety of their home via the Acorn website, video appointments can also be booked where you can discuss the homes with the Acorn sales team.

The Help to Buy scheme has proven very popular since it was first introduced, with over 272,000 properties bought using the loan between 2013 and 2020, with the majority being First-time buyers.

Robin Squire, Regional Managing Director of Acorn's Bristol office said: " We are delighted that select homes at The Old Printworks are now available to buy with the Government-backed Help to Buy equity loan, which will help more buyers secure their dream home in Frome. Since its initial launch we have had buyers from across the Somerset and South West region as well as buyers relocating from London, all keen to benefit from the contemporary lifestyle on offer."

Simon Blair, Managing Director of London & County says: "Despite challenging times, we are thrilled that our first buyers at The Old Printworks are now moved in and enjoying their new homes. The Help to Buy loan will help buyers, wanting to own their first home to purchase with confidence. The newly-released 2-bedroom apartment showcases the high-quality homes available and we anticipate high demand for the Help to Buy homes at The Old Printworks."
