An extra corgi, an extra slice and an extra-special disco as Frome heralds in the Jubilee

By Susie Watkins 2nd Jun 2022

Frome saw in the beginning of the special four day bank holiday in brilliant sunshine, and a very happy return to a Frome post box.

Not only had this post box topper been returned, after one of the corgis had been unceremoniously ripped off, but it was back today (June 2) with a fourth dog and HRH on a rather fetching purple throne.

There were hundreds of families up at the showground for a special Jubilee picnic.

And shh don't tell anyone but there was also a right royal special guest

Keep the Frome secret under your hat.

A large number of Frome families brought their picnics to admire the blossom circle in the Showground, with new accessible pathways created by the Town Rangers.

One of the most popular stalls refreshments from Active and in Touch's tea ladies, but the Flow on the go also had a long queue, and at one stage ran out of ice.

The event was also a chance to pick up  one of 70 tree saplings given away on the day, to help with the Queen's Canopy project,
