Frome fire services out in the early hours

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call at one o clock this morning alerting them to a lorry fire at Rossiters Road in Frome.

Two fire appliances and a water carrier from Frome and Wilton were immediately mobilised by Fire Control.

On arrival, the incident commander confirmed that a flatbed recovery lorry was well alight and quickly got crews to work with a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The fire caused approximately 70 per cent fire damage to the lorry and some heat damage to a nearby caravan.

Police were then called in as the fire had been deemed as deliberate ignition.
