Make time to make a connection with 14 artists - Seven Ukrainian (in exile in Europe or in Ukraine) and seven Frome based at an exhibition of their artwork at the Silk Mill, Frome.

They have linked through their not-for-profit visual arts project Artists in Dialogue: War Vocabulary since July 2022.

Meeting regularly on zoom with the support of an interpreter to discuss many topics relating to the war in Ukraine & the lives it has forced the Ukrainian artists to live. They all create & upload themed artwork to virtual boards.

The exhibition CONNECTION will show 42 fine art digital limited edition prints of original project artwork - 3 pieces from each artist.

In January this year the Frome artists created a Heliograffiti (drawing with light) using the translated instructions of one of the Ukrainian artists. At the end of February they presented a talk about the project at Frome Town Hall to an interested and probing audience.

The exhibition is about artists linking together using the language of art and in compassionate support of each other - it is not about promoting individual practice.

By visiting the exhibition the artists intend that you witness the connection that IS Artists in Dialogue: War Vocabulary.
