He is the dapper debonair and so mysterious Bond, and as the curtain rises on what will be Daniel Craig's last outing, did you know there was a Frome connection to the 007 story?

As a delayed No Time To Die hits the local cinema, did you know another famous actor with a very long standing connection to the James Bond franchise, lived in the town?

According to this plaque on a home in Frome, the actor to first play the Bond assistant Moneypenny, who was also the long tolerant target of his none too subtle flirtations, lived here for many years.

Actress Lois Maxwell, who was born in Canada was the first in fourteen James Bond films, from Dr. No (in1962) through to A View to a Kill (in 1985) . She lived in Frome from 1994-2002,

The late Bond Sir Roger Moore said of her that she should have won promotion to a more senior role that of 007 controller M adding: " She was always fun and she was wonderful to be with, she was absolutely perfect casting."

No Time To Die is notable for many reasons, and as well as being Daniel Craig's last film, it means he will also make Bond history. It is the longest of all the movies , running for 163 minutes, while he was also in the shortest of the movies, Quantum of Solace which ran at 102 minutes.

The local Westway cinema in Frome will be showing the latest Bond at just five minutes past midnight on Thursday.
