Age UK Somerset have run out of yarn for their Balls for Boredom campaign.

Now Frome's local yarn officianardo is leading a campaign (or should that be rolling out a campaign) to encourage her customers donate their unused balls and is also digging around for some of her stock.

The owner of the Frome Yarn Collective has also taken the opportunity to ask all her loyal customers to check on their older neighbours and if those neighbours are knitters/crocheters see if they'd like to sign up for two balls of free yarn.

Nicky Jerrome told Nub News: " I'll be raiding my stock room for donations."

If you think you can help with donating wool you can contact Kate Barrington at Age UK Somerset: [email protected] - who will give you details of where to send yarn to.

If you want to contact the Frome Yarn Collective, to help or to get stock, they can be contacted via email [email protected].

The Balls campaign was started by Age UK Somerset to send out balls of wool - all new stock - to those quarantined at home.

The balls were posted out to the elderly across Somerset and North Somerset with Girlings Retirement Rentals donating the postage costs.

But that stock has now run out - hence the appeal.
