The popular Whatcombe field, which is community owned by the town itself, is offering residents the chance to buy shares.

The field, on the Bath side of Frome is hugely popular with dog walkers and ramblers as they use it to access the cycle path across to Radstock.

Back in 2015 the community raised £325,000 to buy the Whatcombe Fields site, a total of 34 acres. Over 280 shareholders now jointly own the area, with the aim to prevent it ever being built on.

Now following their recent Annual General Meeting, the community owners of Whatcombe have agreed that the price of each share in the green space will be lowered to £50.
