Car Fire at Oldford, Frome

Date: 07.05.2019Time: 01:34Location: Oldford, FromeDevon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public reporting a car on fire at the above location.

One fire appliance from Frome was immediately mobilised by Fire Control.

On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed that one car was well alight, and that the fire had begun to spread to nearby garages. Crews quickly got to work with one Hose Reel Jet to extinguish the fire. Once under control, the crew gained access to the garages to check for further fire spread using a Thermal Imaging Camera.

The fire caused 100% damage to the car and slight smoke and heat damage to the nearby garage.

Police were requested to attend as the fire was suspected to have been started deliberately.
