A campaign to encourage cat owners to have their cats neutered and microchipped is being jointly organised and funded by RSPCA Wiltshire Mid Branch and Cats Protection Frome and District Branch.

Now underway the project will end on 31st March 2023.

Owners who receive government benefits (excluding State Pension) and cannot afford to pay for the operation and aftercare themselves by paying a high proportion of the vet costs for them.

Applicants do have to prove that they are receiving benefits to apply for help - this is a change from previous campaigns.

Cats and kittens will be accepted for treatment from the towns of Devizes, Bradford on Avon, Frome, Melksham, Trowbridge, Warminster and Westbury and the surrounding villages.

You can apply until 31st March 2023. If your kittens are not old enough at the time to be neutered, or vets are unable to undertake the operations immediately, the vouchers will remain valid for operations carried out at any time until the end of September 2023.

Please be aware that, depending upon which vet practice you choose, we may not be able to cover the full cost of neutering by that practice.

The say :

We will acknowledge your application by e-mail, or by telephone if you don't use e-mail, within 3 days, and advise you of your voucher number. You will need this when you contact the vets to make an appointment.

If your vet is not participating in the campaign we will agree a suitable alternative with you.

Cats Protection Frome and District Branch will be responsible for the administration of the campaign in the following areas:

Bradford on Avon

Trowbridge

Frome.

If you are in these areas and have any questions please call Cats Protection Frome and District Branch on 07716-704012 .
