Frome's biggest gig and event venue site, the Cheese & Grain, plans on re-opening with its first concert on May 19.

Tickets are on sale now for and evening with the Quireboys frontman Spike featuring tunes from the band, Ralph McTelll and his solo albums.

They are being sold as small groups of tickets, with the intimate acoustic gig expected to be seated only, with strict limits on numbers.

It is understood that the cafe at the Cheese & Grain will be opening before this, in April, with the regulations on April 12 due to allow outdoor hospitality at venues.

Prior to any re-opening, the venue, working in partnership with Frome Town Council (the leaseholders of the building), will be installing a new electronically controlled ventilation system for the main hall.
