The big climate change event in Frome saw many powerful groups come together to offer advice, help and practical ways residents can save energy and green up their lives.

But one of the most popular stands was that from the Sustrans movement, who promote cycling and cycle paths.

There to offer support to the national project, a specifically local campaigner, from the hyper local Connecting Chapmanslade group.

Adam Oakley was there to lobby for a safe, sustainable cycle route from Frome, to Warminster and Westbury via the village of Chapmanslade.

The route, which in turn could link up to the railway stations and the national cycle network, could also be used by walkers, wheelchair users, mobility scooters and those pushing prams.

They will be having a big meeting on Monday, March 16 at 7:30 PM at the Three Horseshoes in Chapmanslade to push the project ahead.

The group is active on social media but also has a web page the chapmanslade site

They are keen to get as much support as possible from any locals including but not limited to cycling fans.

You can also contact them by email [email protected].

In turn they are supportive of and supported by Frome's Missing Links group here
