The group of protestors known as the 'Colston 4', who toppled the statue of slave-trader Edward Colston in Bristol's town centre during BLM protests last year in June, will be appearing at Bristol Crown Court tomorrow (in person).

Representing three of the four individuals charged with causing criminal damage to the statue are Raj Chada, Head of Criminal Defence, and Laura O'Brien, Associate, at the social-justice law firm Hodge Jones & Allen, based in London.

They have released the following statement on behalf of three of the defendants:

"We will fight these criminal charges vigorously on behalf of our clients. We are committed to defending them and their right to a fair trial in this important case. We ask that their privacy is respected."

The court proceedings are due to start at 10am tomorrow (March 2).
