Make more of the Frome community?
Make more of the Frome community?

The Edventure Start-up course is a practical 11 week course in community entrepreneurship, where you learn how to turn ideas into reality, gain lots of transferable skills, meet new friends, grow confidence and boost an initiative in Frome.

If you've ever wanted to start up a project or a business this is the perfect training ground where you will learn skills in; team working, planning, marketing, running events, facilitation, and community engagement.

In the past this course was only open to 18-35 year olds but now the team has opened up four places to an older audience.

They posted : " We think it is important that people of all ages learn to work together, and think that the skills and opportunities that the course provides can be valuable to all. "

Two questions which need answers

How do we grow the local Circular Economy and make more of the resources we already have?

What does Frome need during the current economic crisis?

The Edventure team said : " Typically, community markets are simply a space for local producers and artisan makers to sell their products. Can we dream bigger than that? What would a market look like if it's driving goal was community resilience rather than profit? What if there was a forum for a range of local charities and initiatives to gather with the community, coming together to share, mend, swap, donate, and support each other. There are many local projects that operate to this principle, but there is no space where they all gather. Can we create that space? What might that look like? Is it creating a central hub, or should we take resources in to the community?"

The course starts on the 16January and runs for 11 weeks. The attendance is 9.15-14.45 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
