One of the biggest pages for festival fans is full of posts of those testing postive.

On one of the biggest fan pages for the Glastonbury Festival is full of reports of fans returning home with huge joyful memories - and a postive covid test.

One post said : " I thought it was just the dust and dehydration.. but no it was covid."

In Frome itself the latest number of covid cases (which are no longer continuously reported) the numbers are up 28.6 per cent.

That is the equivalent of a case rate per 100,000 people of 201.3.

While for the post code for the Festival the latest reported cases are up 88.9%, but obviously many of those who visited PIlton were from elsewhere.

According to the Office of National Statistics around one in 35 people currently have coronavirus in what has been called a fifth wave. This is the highest for two months, but nothing like at the peak of the Omicron wave when there were 16,600 patients in hospital.

According to the latest from the NHS, 7,822 patients in England had Covid-19 (as of June 27 ) up 37 per cent on the previous week.

One of the main fan sites for Glastonbury did some maths : " So there were 138,000 tickets sold so that means about 4,000 people came with it, and then the crowding and singing would have helped it spread so no surprise really. "

In case you missed it Coldplay's Chris Martin stopped off for a pint in a local pub on the way back from Glastonbury

And Frome Nub News after managing NOT to catch Covid for over two years, has finally succumbed.

Those testing positive post Glastonbury which returned to a rapturous welcome after two years on hold seemed very willing to pay the price .

One post given a big thumbs up : " In the same boat! I thought it was hay fever was kicking in ... Until the cough and bunged up feeling kicked in. Hope no-one suffers too bad from it. But what a blimmen good year at Glastonbury."
