The deadline for having your say on Selwood Garden Community - which could see 1,700 homes built on the edge of Frome has been extended for comments until October 7.

Council's planning website was playing up so while the deadline was set at September 30, so a few more days have been added.

Campaigners fighting the development have made an urgent request for as many local people to comment on the proposals as possible.

The Stop campaign has accused profit-hungry land financiers, LVA, of putting forward plans that will destroy Frome's natural habitats and hundreds of acres of productive farmland. "Their proposal? Cover these green fields with hundreds upon hundreds of executive homes that Frome does not need and cannot support."

The highways commission has also asked for time to assess the effect that the development would have on the roads. The development if it happens will come to land South of the A361.

The campaigners fighting the development have called the new version of plans for the area "All sizzle and no steak." You can read the latest HERE
