Frome RFC U14's hosted their latest league game, against Bridport RFC U14's in horrendous playing conditions. The game started steadily with both teams testing each other out. Frome broke the deadlock when Captain Alfie Newbery bamboozled the Bridport defence going over in the corner.

Some great ball carrying from Forwards Toby Cassidy and Aelfric Bidder led to Bidder, crashing the ball up the middle, for the ball to be spun wide for Archie Pearn to score under the post. Harrie Webster slotted the kick.

It wasn't long to wait for the third try with some strong running by Kirean Nuttley that was quickly recycled by the fowards, that saw some brilliant handling by the backs with Zach Sibbly scoring in the corner. The extras where added by Pearn.

Bridport started the second half well with some well worked set piece play, but couldn't breach the formidable Frome defence. Cassidy gathered the ball on the half way line to beat 3 Bridport players to score in the corner. Some slick hands by Newbery and co saw a well executed move to see Pearn feed the ball unselfishly to Olly Merrit to score under the posts. Pearn slotted the extras.

The Frome pack was reaping the rewards in the scrum with a brilliant turnover that was feed blind, to the on coming full back Webster to crash over for try number 6.

The Frome boys where dominating most areas of play by now and the 7th and last try was scored by Harry Greenwood who powered his way over the line.

FT: Frome RFC U14's 41 - 0 Bridport RFC U14's

The Frome RFC Coaching staff said: "An amazing performance in truly grim rain and wind. Good luck to Bridport, who kept working hard all game, we wish them all the best for the rest of the season."
