Badcox was taped off today (July 25) following reports of a double stabbing in the early hours.

The police helicopter was in the air and police on the scene within minutes of the incident, which is believed to have happened about 1 am.

The stabbings happened close to the local shops in Badcox, which earlier in the evening had been described by an eye witness as busy with party goers.

An eyewitness said that two young lads suffered stab wounds, while one person at the scene said she helped save a young man who had suffered " multiple stab wounds." She held one of the wounds closed and kept pressure on it until the ambulance crew arrived.

Early unconfirmed reports suggest that both victims, who were taken immediately to hospital, are still alive.
