Fair Frome the local charity which helps feed the town has posted a new record - which it is very unhappy to have achieved.

On Thursday the demand on its services was the biggest ever, with 17 families, four couples and five individuals requesting food help - in just one session.

Fair Frome has already reported a huge surge in demand, and last week was its busiest ever.

The charity not only helps people in poverty via the Foodbank it helps with furniture and supports cooked meals across Frome via the Food at Five initiative.

Food at Five offers a hot meal a warm space (and a friendly welcome) from 4.30 Mondays at The Mount, Wednesdays at the Cricket Club house and Thursdays at Trinity church hall. That meal is free to those on a low or no income, with a suggested donation of £2 for others.
