Fair Housing for Frome will be taking to the streets again this Saturday 31st October with an information stand in the Westway Shopping Centre.

The group who campaign on issues around local housing, homelessness, and affordable rental housing will be joined by members of Frome Area Community Land Trust who are looking to build genuinely affordable rental homes for local people in the town.

Also on hand will be representatives from the newly established 'Homeshare Mendip'. Homeshare works where someone who wants company or needs a small amount of help to live independently in their own home is matched with someone who has a housing need and can provide support or companionship.

Fair Housing for Frome recently announced that they would be working with street homelessness organisation 'Elim Connect' to provide a Zero Nights shelter in Frome. The organisation will be looking for volunteers to help with this project in the colder months ahead and would be happy to explain more to anyone interested in getting involved. . Another initiative is the creation of a regular radio housing discussion programme with local radio station Frome FM.

During Saturdays pop-up stand there will be a chance for local people to be interviewed and give their views or talk about their own experiences of renting or getting housed in Frome.

The Fair Housing for Frome pop-up stand will be based around the empty M&Co shop in the Westway on Saturday 31st October from 9am to mid-afternoon. All Frome residents are welcome to come and talk to the team, find out more, get advice and maybe discover how they can get involved in one of the organisations projects. The team can also be contacted via their Facebook page or email at [email protected]
