Festive fundraising at We Hear You : Laps, letters, let your imagination run

7th Nov 2020 | Local News

Local charity We Hear You are hosting some lockdown-proof virtual events to raise funds for their free counselling service for children and adults affected by cancer or a life-threatening condition.

Fundraising and Communications Manager Gemma Wilkes says: "In 2020, our work at We Hear You is more important and more needed than ever. We need to find new ways to raise the £5,000 a week it costs to run our service, so we're rising to the challenge and we hope you'll join us for some brilliant virtual events and activities this autumn and winter. Thanks so much to everyone who has supported WHY so far, it means so much."

Letters to Santa

Send your child's letter to Santa to WHY's main office in Frome Town Hall, Christchurch Street West, Frome BA11 1EB or email to [email protected] (please include a return address). WHY are acting as official Santa agents and will ensure each child receives a reply, with a sweet treat and some minibeast-friendly reindeer food for Christmas Eve. Suggested donation £5 to wehearyou.org.uk/donate.

Christmas Fair

On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November, 24 virtual stallholders will offer Christmas shopping opportunities via the WHY website. All purchases at the fair mean a donation to We Hear You. Visit wehearyou.org.uk/virtual-christmas-fair-2020 for information about the businesses taking part and how to shop.

Santa Dash

WHY's annual Santa Dash, supported by Frome Cricket Club and Frome Running Club since 2017, can't run this year, but after the success of Rachel Clark's virtual reunion mile for her year-long '365 for WHY' challenge in May, which raised £2,000, the Santa Dash has gone virtual. WHY can post you in a Santa suit or you can fashion your own festive running gear. Click through to book HERE:
