Fire in public house at Trowbridge Road, Farleigh Hungerford

Date: 19.08.2019Time: 07:52Location: TROWBRIDGE ROAD, FARLEIGH HUNGERFORD, FROME.Fire Control received multiple calls reporting a property on fire at the above location at 07:52hrs this morning. Three fire engines from Frome, Bradford on Avon and Trowbridge were quickly mobilised and arrived on scene before 08:00hrs. Fire fighters at the incident ground promptly requested the attendance of Police for traffic control and an Aerial Ladder Platform.Before long, fire crews then requested the attendance of a further two fire engines for additional Breathing Apparatus and a Fire Investigation Officer. Fire Control quickly mobilised fire engines from Westbury and Bath and a Fire Investigation Officer from Taunton was informed of the incident. A Hazardous Materials and Environmental Protection Advisor was also requested to attend this incident and was mobilised from Salisbury.  Fire fighters at the incident reported that the fire was located in the ground floor of a public house and access was also being made to the roof of the property externally, to check for any fire spread. Six Breathing Apparatus, three Hose Reel Jets, 2 Main Jets, an Extension Ladder and small gear were in use tackling the fire which was located on the ground floor only. No persons were injured at this incident and the cause of the fire at this time is unknown, Avon and Somerset Police are aware and are investigating as necessary. These are all the details available on this incident at this time.
