Police in Frome have stepped up patrols in an area where a suspected arsonist has struck - and have been putting up fliers offering a reward to capture them.

Crimestoppers UK has up to thousand pounds for information leading to an arrest - along with a guarantee that any tip off will be guaranteed to be kept anonymous.

There have been up to a dozen fires over the last few years, all concentrated around a small area of Frome.

The police say that they have yet to identify who is behind the attacks, the last of which involved a block of flats on Selwood Road in late April.

A police spokesperson said: " The fires have been very sporadic and we have increased patrols through our dedicated team of specials. But our enquiries are continuing to identify an offender(s)."

Frome's sergeant Rachel Clark said: " It's positive that there have been no further fires. We still urge the public to contact us with any suspicious sightings and activity."
