It closed the branch in August, now the former Barclays Bank has come up for rent in Frome - but you will need £18,000 a year.

The bank was the last of the three banks to close on Frome's Market Place, following the loss of NatWest and HSBC, all three within six months of each other. HSBC has been for sale, or you can also lease it, since April this year.

The former NatWest building was formerly the Assembly Room and was once a dance and banquet hall, which opened in 1818 .The building was taken on in it entirety in the 1970s by the bank and is now for sale for offers over £500,000 and for that you get four floors.

The former Barclays is at the bottom of Stony Street and is a big space, with a big basement too. The ground floor is over 100 square metres, and there is also a basement of over 33 square metres.

It is being marketed by Rogers the agents on Bath Street who call it : " A highly prominent ground and lower ground floor premises, this former bank site is approaching 140 sqm."
