All businesses in Somerset can now access regulatory advice free of charge until the end of July.
The countywide Trading Standards offers an award-winning regulatory advice and support service, and to help businesses during the coronavirus pandemic that advice is now free.
The service's specialist team of officers can provide advice on all aspects of trading standards law.
This includes helping businesses to diversify into different areas and develop a different business model that could operate during the government's current lockdown restrictions.
An example would be a restaurant which cant open its doors under the lockdown rules wanting to develop an online takeaway or delivery service.
The joint service, hosted by Devon County Council, will waive fees until the end of July.
Trading Standards Business Support & Innovation Manager Mark Peacock said: "We are committed to helping our businesses through this difficult time and offering free regulatory support goes some way to provide reassurance and support for the businesses in our area whilst making sure that consumers are protected."
Councillor Rufus Gilbert, Devon County Council's Cabinet Member responsible for Trading Standards and the economy said: "These are challenging times for everyone, including our business communities. We know that access to regulatory support can make an important difference to the success of a business, so we are pleased to be able to make this offer to all Devon and Somerset businesses."
