Revised plans to demolish the former Ring O'Bells pub on Broadway in Frome and build six new homes with new vehicular access, have been withdrawn.

Planning applications in the Frome area this week include:

Erection of canopies to provide cover for the approved car wash facility and stationing of a metal container for use as a staff rest room and storage of car washing equipment at The Imperial Court Chinese Restaurant, Ridgeway, Nunney, is wanted by Westlea Holdings Ltd.

An application for approval of reserved matters following outline approval 2018/0899/OTS for the erection of a single dwelling and associated access; matters of appearance, landscaping, scale to be determined (amended scheme) on land at Horn Street, Nunney, has been made by Ms Sarah Jefferies.

Works to trees in a conservation area:- T1 - Oak, fell at 4 Cabbells Mead, Church Street, Kilmersdon, have been applied for by A P Julian Idiens.

An application for confirmation of compliance with condition 1 on planning consent 2016/0558/FUL has been made at John Snelgrove Limited, Victoria Road, Frome.

Proposed works to trees in a Conservation Area:- T1 - Birch - reduce in height by approximately 3 metres, T2 - Maple - Full crown reduction by approximately 3 metres at Lyde Green, The Barton, Norton St Philip, are wanted by Mrs Martin.

Proposed first floor side extension at 31 The Cooperage, Frome, has been applied for by Kim Holly.

Proposed extension to single garage to create a double garage at 12 Hawkesmead Close, Norton St Philip, is wanted by Mr Chris Cloke.

Proposed works to tree/s in a Conservation Area: T1 (Ash) Reduce crown by 5m; T2 (Thorn) Reduce Crown by 1.5m at 2 Keyford Mews, Frome, have been applied for by Pippa Goldfinger.

A replacement dwelling and demolition of the existing dwelling at Court Farm, The Bungalow, Buckland Lane, Great Elm, is wanted by Professor E Thompson.

Internal alterations to remove a partition wall at 11 Catherine Street, Frome, has been applied for by Ms C Stevens.

Proposed installation of gas supply at 16 Lower Street, Rode, is wanted by Mr and Mrs Kelly.

Works to trees in a Conservation Area A2) Remove to thin group; retaining adjacent Alder and Ash; A3) Remove single stem of coppice group; A4) Common Alder (Alnus glutinosa) Crown-lift to 4m; thin-crown by up to 15 per cent; N) - Norway Spruce (Piscea abies) Crown-lift to 5m; thin-crown by up to 15 per cent at Riverside Holes Lane to Top Lane, Mells, have been applied for by Mrs Freeman. Also at the same location, European Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) A1) Dead tree at front of property; evidence of historic and deliberate ring-barking; 5-Day Notice.

Reduce silver birch by 30 per cent and prune two conifer trees and a mountain ash at 4 Welshmill Road, Frome, is wanted by Rowena Collins.

T1 - T7 (Leylandii) - Fell. T8 (Sycamore) - Remove 2 lateral north facing branches, thin and reduce crown to reduce excessive leaf fall; area to west of Almshouses to be replanted with low height ornamental fruit trees (x3) and grass at The Firs, Top Lane, Mells, has been applied for by Richard Foulsham.

Proposed erection of foour new dwellinghouses and demolition of existing dwelling at 22 Frome Road, Beckington, is wanted by Charities Aid Foundation.

Applications in the Frome area decided this week include:

An application for approval of reserved matters following outline approval 2015/1431/OTS redevelopment to replace existing dwelling and garage with five new dwellings and associated garages; matters of access/appearance/landscaping/layout/scale to be determined at 6 Frome Road, Rode, has been approved.

Erection of a dwelling on land at Albion Place, Green Lane, Frome, by Mr Alex Keely has been refused.

Erection of summer house at Prospect Cottage, Gare Hill Lane, Trudoxhill, by Mr Chris Whitten has been approved.

Replacement of 7ft hedgerow on two sides of property with a block and renedered wall (retrospective) at 11 Park Hayes, Leigh-on-Mendip, by Paul Lewis has been withdrawn.

Improvements to include installation of sub-floor ventilation, ventilation for solid fuel stoves, kitchen and bathroom ventilation, replacement guttering and security measures at Wood Lodge, Orchardleigh, Orchardleigh Estate Road from A362 to Lullington Lane, Buckland Dinham, by Mr C Fuller have been approved.

Change of use of agricultural land to B8 storage land and the erection of a steel framed apex building for B8 storage use (housing of new agricultural machinery) at Read Agri Services, Station Road, Wanstrow, by Mr Richard Read has been approved.

Proposed rear single storey and dormer extension, internal alterations and erection of garages and store/workshop to land at rear at Karim, Station Road, Wanstrow, by Mrs Catherine Kelly has been approved.

New roof lights, external doorway and internal modifications to the existing property at Crossed Swords Cottage, Town Barton, Norton St Philip, by Mike Prince have been approved.

Erection of steel framed dwelling to provide temporary accommodation to help with the welfare and security of 200 cattle in the isolation units on land at Tennis Corner Drove, Standerwick, by Mr George James has been refused.

Demolition of existing conservatory to form rear extension, garage and toolshed at 22 Warminster Road, Beckington, by Mr and Mrs Farr has been approved.

Demolition of existing conservatory and single storey extension to the rear of the house and construction of new single storey rear and side infill extension at 22 Victoria Road, Frome, by Mr and Mrs John and Becka Harrison has been approved.
