Frome artist about to go global - under lockdown - with her stunning shorlisted work being judged today

A talented Frome artist is eagerly waiting to hear about an international art awards for which one of her pieces has been shortlisted.

Tonight marks the start of the Wildlife Artist of the year exhibition, normally held in London, but of course now being held online. Awards are being announced tonight live online (all except the public choice piece while will be opening for votes),

Of 1500 pieces from 53 countries, 159 have been shortlisted for the exhibition, with all pieces available to view via the new online lockdown gallery.

And one of those shortlisted is a piece by Frome's local artist, Violet Von Riot.

Violet told Nub News; " I've feeling both excited and nervous for the announcements, but very much looking forwards to spending an evening viewing all the other pieces, it's a wonderful opportunity that I'm very much looking forwards to sharing with my children."
