The Post Office has confirmed the their branch currently in the Westway still doesn't have a new place to go.

The site has been advertised on the central web site, but as of today (June 10) no alternative premises has been found. The head office say they are still looking to relocate the service.

The office will be closing two days before the Co-op store itself, which will be closing on June 24.

The Radstock operated Co-op will not be relocating and today (June 10) there were clear signs that the store is being closed up systematically. Staff have been offered places at other branches, but several have decided to leave the company.

It is not clear what offers have been made to Post Office staff.

In a statement to Nub News a Post Office spokesperson said: "Frome Post Office is closing on Tuesday 22 June at 3.30pm due to the resignation of the operator. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of the branch. The vacancy is currently being advertised on our website www.runapostoffice.co.uk. We are looking to see how Post Office service can be restored to the area as soon as possible, In the interim alternative branches include Portway and Rodden Road."

Those options have been criticised by several posts on social media with one commenting : " How can elderly people, be expected to walk all the way to the Portway Post Office. It is no good driving up there either since there is nowhere to park."
