A Frome cheese packing factory in Frome is now on the market, months after it was announced the facility would close.
Canada-based Saputo announced it would be moving away from the south-west last year, with the Marston Trading Estate factory to cease production.
Now the site is on the market for £2.5 million with agent Cooper and Tanner.
The property listing says: "Following the relocation of their Frome production facility, the Saputo Dairy UK (formerly Dairy Crest) premises becomes surplus to their requirements and will be available with vacant possession following decommissioning, estimated Q2 2024.
"This opportunity provides a rare chance to acquire substantial food processing facility that still has significant economic lifecycle remaining.
"The internal accommodation is in good order throughout and comprises of warehousing, including cold stores and full height stores, with two delivery bays. There are a range of purposely fitted production zones together with ancillary administrative areas and offices, welfare facilities and workshop accommodation."
Last year Just Food reported dairy giant Saputo UK was planning to relocate cheese packing to Nuneaton in Warwickshire.
It said staff in Frome had already been informed of the closure.
In a statement provided to Just Food, Saputo UK said 170 workers at the Frome plant "are affected by this decision", although 180 new jobs are being created at the Nuneaton factory.
"Employees have been offered the opportunity to relocate to Nuneaton and everyone has been provided with outplacement support," the company said.
