Frome College is one hundred years old this year and there are some wonderful photos detailing the past decades.

Formerly Frome County School, it then became Frome Grammar School before becoming Frome Community College in 1974.

There is a special service at St John's on Sunday - and the exhibition in the town museum about the school will also be open - to commemorate the anniversary.

Sadly due to a coronavirus outbreak the choir from Frome College is not able to sing at the service, but will be performing virtually.

The church service at St. John's will be on Sunday 26th September, starting at 11.30 am. Seats will be on a first come first served basis.

You can read about what Principal Emma Reynolds, who took over in 2017, told Frome Town Council about how the College has performed during the pandemic, and what the future might hold by clicking HERE : including possible ideas about what will happen once the planned expansions of Frome happen.

On its Wikipedia page the College lists three former pupils who are internationally renowned.

: Jenson Button (born 1980), the2009 Formula One World Drivers' Champion

: Kerry Wilkinson (born 1980), bestselling author

: Luke Hood, founder of UKF Music
