After consultations with parents and carers, the Frome College uniform is coming back.

Pupils, who until now have been allowed to wear non-uniform due to coronavirus safety concerns, will be back in their blazers from the end of October half term.

To keep pupils in social bubbles and to promote safeguarding they have been wearing different coloured lanyards to easily identify different year groups.

The debate about whether uniform should be mandatory was hotly contested on the social forum Frome Parents - with hundreds of posts.

Some insisted it was a great leveller for how children were treated, while others pointed out that the cost of a full uniform is prohibitive for many families.

Frome College returns after October half term on November 2.
