Frome Community Fridge has been vandalised - again- leading to a renewed appeal to pay for some shutters for the award-winning community asset.

On Christmas Eve, volunteers for the fridge and the larder saved 1.8 tonnes of food which would have otherwise gone into landfill

The broken glass on the door was a disappointment for all those who support the fridge - open to anyone who needs food.

The Frome group had a very busy Christmas with over 21 collections on Christmas Eve and volunteers managed to deliver and keep the fridge stocked on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Organiser Terri Pitts said: " I love how the community helps us save food waste. My team are stronger than a sheet of glass."

That said they have arranged a funding page to pay for shutters which would be used to stop this happening again and have appealed for help.

the Go Fund me site Terri added: " Please do help if you can. This is a fantastic resource for the community and they need some help solving this regular problem."
