To keep Frome residents entertained during the lock down, several local musicians have been entertaining their near neighbours.

One guitarist has been playing select Pink Floyd tunes to his neighbours from his garden on the Critchill Estate in Frome.

His wife said he was fearful that it might have annoyed residents, but on the contrary they went onto social media to praise his talents - and ask for an encore.

Since the band recorded a total of 165 songs, he should not run out of a concert playlist anytime soon.

One near neighbour commented: " Heard Wish you Were Here wafting through the air , brilliant - my favourite band and one of my favourite songs, made me wish I could have been there, brilliant many thanks."

In our new fish bowl life, the love of live music is finding new ways to be played out and there have been other concerts, showing a wealth of local talent in Frome.

Harpist Vicki Burke played from her home after starting a small micro-community help group around Catherine Hill firstly offering to run errands for less able residents.

Normally working as a music teacher, she said she too was a little nervous, but her late Sunday (April 5) 'concert' was again well received. Around ten people were seen to be listening outside her home, while many others listened from lockdown.

Vicki said: " I was a little nervous. But it seemed to go down well."
