Frome Festival successful bid for lottery money

Frome Festival has won some funding from The National Lottery Community Fund. They have successfully bid for £9,780 to help fund a programme of free and low-cost activities within this year's Festival.

The town-wide Festival expressed thanks to the Lottery, and all of its players, saying that it will help bring some fabulous events in July.

Frome Festival will this year be held July 7 - 16 and will include a line up of dance, music, drama, art and, always very popular, walks and talks. Last year one of the most popular events was a talk by David Olusoga, the historian and TV presenter, who gave the second Bob Morris lecture at the Cheese and Grain discussing his hugely popular programme "A House Through Time".

The team posted on social media about the Lottery monies : " It really will make such a difference."

The Festival, run in Frome since 2000 typically hosts more than 160 events are held at over 40 venues in and around the town, including the two theatres in Frome: The Memorial Theatre which was built in 1924 and the 240-seat Merlin Theatre.
