A fire crew from Frome, which it has just been announced has been saved from possible closure, was called out this morning to a vehicle fire on Common Lane in Holcombe. One fire engine from Frome and another from Shepton Mallet attended the incident.

On arrival crews confirmed one vehicle well alight which was in close proximity to a house and fence.  The vehicle was completely destroyed and the nearby property bungalow had windows broken and fascias, guttering and nearby shrubs scorched.  The fire, which it has been decided was accidental, was put out using two hose reel jets and thermal imaging camera.
