An application is in for the former butchers at the bottom of Stony Street in Frome to be converted into somewhere selling alcohol.

A notice in the window of the former Penleigh butcher shop offers locals the opportunity to comment on the change of use until December 5.

The licence is being sought by The Stores, which Nub News understands is part of the popular Stony Street pizza restaurant and wine bar further up the street at number 8.

The new business owners want to be able to serve alcohol until ten o'clock at night Monday to Saturday and from 10 am until 6pm on a Sunday.

Penleigh shuttered up in February this year
