A row of garages in Frome could be turned into a holiday let, if plans are signed off by Somerset Council.

If approved, the two-bedroom holiday rental could be created at the garages on land behind Gentle Street.

Planning permission has already been granted for them to be turned into offices, with work on site already underway.

But the new owners say the new scheme "proposes a far less intensive and more appropriate use for this building, through converting it to a two-bedroom holiday let".

The application says there is a "significant need for this type of tourist accommodation in Frome".

"Given the design and layout of the development proposed, it is considered that the development will not create any adverse harm to adjoining residential amenities or uses, and will create far less disturbance and activity compared to the offices previously approved," it explains.

"As such the scheme will provide enhancements to residential amenities. "
