Halfords is to fully reopen dozens of its stores including the one in Frome on Thursday (May 28).

The store had been open at the doors only for bike repairs and for customers to pick up orders made on line.

Now it is one named as one of the 53 stores across the UK which will open to customers coming into the shop.

The car parts retailer has been carrying out trial re-openings, including into the one at Bristol Cribbs Causeway to ensure it would be able to work safely.

It will be the first time Halfords customers will be allowed inside the store since the UK lockdown started on 23 March.

In March, bike shops were designated an essential service under the government's coronavirus control measures and since then many have been operating, like in Frome, from outside.

Halfords has 446 stores across the UK.
