One of Frome's bigger companies has carried on through the coronavirus pandemic, and everyone will be very glad they have, even if you might not know why.

The company was quick to applaud the NHS and other key workers, but they too deserve a shout out.

It is thanks to key workers such as the staff at KRL/Palletways, that much of the South West, and further afield, is keeping going.

Put simply, they are the key workers who make sure we can all still get what we need and in recent times that has been a big increased work load from and to the NHS.

Transport Director Andy Mead told Nub News, that for his loyal team it has been business as usual, with some adjustments for distancing. He said: " Yes we have changed the way we work , we now have the drivers who distance their selves from our traffic office and warehouse staff . We also now take pictures of the pallets we deliver.. rather than be in meetings."

But other than that they are working at full capacity with an impressive fleet of trucks and drivers working across the UK.

The company employs 60 people based on the Marston Trading Estate and Andy himself has been working in the haulage world, in Somerset, for over 30 years.

They have 30 trucks going out every day from the Frome site, delivering in the whole of the BA postcode from Bath – Warminster , down to Yeovil across to Street and back up to Radstock.

It is a vast area, and in addition they are delivering goods basically all over the UK and beyond ; around 600 full pallets a day.

On those pallets everything from home appliances – to vital supplies .

Andy added: " When our trucks our out and about they also collect goods. Just this week we have collected vital supplies from customers going to hospitals , care homes etc. We also are collecting and delivering from the NHS distribution centre daily , with vast amounts of supplies."

They also arrange goods to be distributed globally, by air, or sea and are very busy with Imports throughout the group www.kr-l.com,

You can see their video, which finishes with a clap for the key workers here: Facebook

KRL is one of over 115 independent transport providers that are part of the Palletways UK network, Europe's largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network.
