Frome in mourning, as the town pays its respects with details on what events are still going ahead

With the country in mourning for the Queen following the death of the 96 year old monarch in Scotland yesterday, there are many ways to mark and pay tribute to her steadfast role she played for over 70 years.
A book of condolences has been opened in St John's church in the centre of town, and the bank outside the church is already lined with flowers.
Flags around town are at half mast, and will remain like that until the day following The Queen's State Funeral.
The only exception to half-masting during this period of mourning is on the day of the Accession Council on 10 September when His Majesty The King is formally proclaimed.
At noon today the bells of St Mary's in Frome, following direction from Lambeth Palace, were tolled 96 times to mark Queen Elizabeth's age.
However guidance is that events including sport can go ahead this coming weekend.
In line with the guidelines to the official time of mourning issued by the Department of Culture Media and Sport some events are going, respectively, ahead including some London theatre shows. The musical Hamilton has posted that the show will go ahead to show their marvel at her magnificent life.
In Frome, the show of Dave Gorman is ON tonight at The Merlin. He is performing brand new material. In a Work-in-Progress special here in Frome, he takes a mischievous look at modern life. The Show starts at 7.30pm
In football, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland home nations have called off the weekend's football and the Frome Town FA trophy match has been called off.
RFU | Rugby Union will go ahead this weekend in Frome. The official guidance the club has received is that there can be respectful continuation of sport at all levels this weekend. So Frome RFC announced that they will respectfully hold their planned games.
